The City of Prince George received some money for accessibility upgrades.
At Monday’s meeting, City Council voted on acceptance of an $82,500 grant from the Rick Hansen Foundation.
Director of Civic Facilities and Events Andy Beesley noted City Hall, the Two Rivers Art Gallery, and the Plaza Parkade were rated, working with the Rick Hansen Foundation.
“Several accessibility improvements were identified, including emergency systems, washrooms, stairs and ramps, wayfinding signage, and doors,” Beesley said.
“Pending Council’s approval, further consultations will occur to refine some work in these buildings as needed, and constructions is expected to be done by the end of this year.”
Council approved acceptance of the money unanimously.
