Update: 8:00 PM

It will be another complete sellout when the P.G. Cougars host the Portland Winterhawks on Friday and Saturday, April 26th and 27th. All the available tickets for both games have been sold. The team may release a few more tickets at some point before Game 1.

Update: 2:20pm

And they’re back.

More blocks of tickets to both games have been made available online. They are not expected to last long either.

Update: 2:00pm

And they’re gone.

Both Friday and Saturday’s games are down to a handful of single seats left for sale – under two hours after they went up for grabs.

More tickets may become available throughout the week, but they will be few and far between.

Original story: 12:15pm

The passion for the Prince George Cougars is back in a big way.

After completing their second round series against the Kelowna Rockets last night – winning the game 6-3 and the series 4-1 – the Prince George Cougars will play the Portland Winterhawks in the Western Conference Finals.

After finishing ahead of the Winterhawks by a single point in the 68-game regular season standings, the Cougars will have home-ice advantage in the third round for the first time in the team’s history.

Fans seem to have taken note of this – tickets for both games 1 and 2 went on sale at 11:00 this morning.

One hour later, the Cougars say they have sold 4,700 tickets to each game.

For reference, last night’s game against Kelowna was attended by 6014 fans, the most ever recorded at a Cougars home playoff game.

According to the Cougars, some tickets are currently on hold and could become available later in the week, but anyone who wants to go to either game is being strongly advised to act fast.

More updates will be posted as they become available.
