Environment Canada issues special weather statement for Highway 97, Pine Pass

A size able spring snowfall could be on its way for parts of the Peace Region and the Pine Pass.

Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather statement for the area, which includes Highway 97 as five to 15 centimetres of snow could fall between tonight (Monday) and tomorrow (Friday).

A band of heavy rain is expected to develop over the BC Peace River district.

Along the eastern slopes of the Rockies, precipitation will fall as snow while regions further away, heavy rain is expected to transition to snow mixed with rain.

Motorists are reminded to drive accordingly due to the changing conditions.
