The UNBC Timberwolves Men’s Soccer team headed to the Fraser Valley for its latest recruit.
Head Coach Steve Simonson announced the commitment of left back Jacob Wedel today (Tuesday).
Wedel, a soon-to-be graduate of Sardis Secondary, visited the campus in February.
“As soon as I came here, I just felt super welcome. It’s a good environment,” reflected Wedel who spent last season with Burnaby FC and head coach Todd May. Wedel played a big part in guiding helping Burnaby FC capture both a provincial and a national championship.
“Winning Nationals with Burnaby FC was an awesome experience and evolved me into the player I am now. That experience provided the best memories, teammates and staff I could have asked for. They are truly like family to me.”
Wedel’s plan is to pursue a Bachelor of Science at UNBC. He has ambitions of playing soccer professionally before pursuing a career as a sports psychologist.
