The Squamish RCMP say a plane crash in the area has been confirmed to be fatal.
The Squamish RCMP was notified of the crash on Friday, through an automatic crash notification from a smartphone.
The location of the phone was showing a remote area on the outskirts of Squamish.
Mounties were able to access the remote area yesterday (Saturday) via air.
One on scene, it was confirmed the two occupants of the plane did not survive.
The RCMP is working alongside the Transportation Safety Board and the BC Coroners Service to determine the cause of the incident.
No additional details will be released at this time.
