Fun Fair raises money for diabetes research and programming

A Fun Fair filled the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum today (Sunday) raising money for diabetes in Prince George.

“Funds raised today are split between I Challenge Diabetes Canada and DRIFCAN, which is the Diabetes Research Institution Foundation of Canada,” said Organizer Megan Rose.

“One is going to help us find a cure for type one, and the other is hosting family get togethers for the type one community and adventure days and stuff like that for the type one community.”

I Challenge Diabetes puts on a variety of programming for the type one community, which Rose said is something the type one community in Prince George has needed.

“We started putting together events, we had one in April that sold out for the type one community,” she explained.

“As well as we have our first family camp happening in July which sold out within a month of opening it.”

Rose said they’re hoping to go bigger next year.
