Post Secondary students in BC on both ends of the Tuition fee scale

Stats Canada released it’s latest tuition fees numbers for graduate and undergraduate students in Canada.

In BC, undergraduates pay about 53 hundred dollars while graduate students shell out 7800 dollars.

Analyst, Nora McNichol says the fees are tied to enrolment numbers.

“All of our averages are weighted on enrolment figures and each institution in Canada charges different fees for both student categories.”

McNichol adds tuition fees for both increased slightly.

“Percentage wise we see a two percent spike for British Columbia when it comes to graduate and undergraduate students and the increase is established by the province.”

BC ranks 7th in undergrad fees in Canada while the province is the third highest in graduate fees.

The national average for undergraduate tuition fees is 62 hundred dollars while the average for graduate students is 64 hundred dollars.
