Gas well expansion approved for Foothills landfill

The Regional District of Fraser Fort George’s board has approved upgrades to the Foothills landfill, Azu Community Water System, Ness Lake Fire Hall, and funding for various community grants.

Twin Rivers Developments Ltd. has been awarded a $485,119 contract to dispose of aging temporary gas wells at the Foothills landfill.

They will also expand the gas well field to meet greenhouse gas emission reduction regulatory requirements.

Community Works Funding of $127,700 has been given to repair the Azu Community Water System.

The Ness Lake Fire Hall is also receiving $70,000 for a roof replacement.

  • Pineview Recreation Centre for $10,000 for a pickleball court and driveway and grounds maintenance
  • McBride Elementary Parent Advisory Committee for $5,000 for swim program bussing
  • Royal Canadian Legion McBride Branch 75 for $4,000 for insurance

PG Mounties looking for man wanted for theft

The Prince George RCMP are on the lookout for 41-year-old Christopher Ronald Erickson.  According to police, he is wanted on two unendorsed warrants for theft under $5,000, and failing to comply with order.

Nomination period opens for Business Excellence Awards

The five finalists in each Business Excellence Awards category and the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award will be revealed at a lunchtime announcement at Knox Performance Centre on September 11th. 15-year-old Olivia Wisniowski of the Northern Judo Club reached the podium at the 2025 Copa Minas de Judo in Brazil after competing in the senior women’s 78-kg category.
