All wildfire evacuation alerts and orders rescinded in BC

British Columbia is currently winning the fight against wildfires.

In a provincial news conference this afternoon, Minister of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness Bowinn Ma announced that nobody in BC is currently under an evacuation order or alert.

She also said there are currently no wildfires of note in the province, and they have only seen four new fire starts in the last day.

260 fires are still burning across BC, but only 38 are considered out of control.

As a result, campfire bans across most of the province have been lifted in time for Labour Day weekend.

1,022,606 hectares have burned across 1,560 wildfires in the province this fire season. Under a quarter of them have been deemed human caused.
