Air Canada, pilots reach tentative agreement

No strike, no lockout.

Air Canada has reached a four-year tentative agreements with its pilots, avoiding both a strike by the pilots and or a lockout by the company.

Terms of the deal won’t be released until a ratification vote by the pilots, which is expected to take place over the next month.

The Airline Pilots Association says the deal means an extra $1.9 billion for its members over the life of the contact.

The news comes to the relief of more than 100,000 customers who had been bracing for a possible shut down that would have upset travel plans.

Flights will be running as normal today. (Sunday)
