Building permit values slow down in August in Prince George

The City of Prince George saw a bit of a slower August when it comes to building permit values.

According to a report going before Prince George City Council at Wednesday’s meeting, the City issued a total of 35 building permits last month, worth a combined total of $8.4 million.

A majority of last months’ value came from nine new single family dwellings, worth a combined $5.8 million.

2024 continues to be a good year for building permits in Prince George, outpacing 2022’s record year in terms of value.

As of the end of August, the City has issued a total of 288 building permits, worth a combined $206.8 million.

Special Olympics BC Summer Games: The 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games in Prince George is officially over.

Organizers “extremely pleased” with Special Olympics BC Games

After two days of competition, the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games have come to a close.  The games brought around 900 athletes to the Prince George area to compete in ten different sports on Friday and Saturday.  "With any large, large tournament like this, you're always running with your hair straight back just to get everything ready, and we certainly managed to put everything together," said Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee Lyn Hall.
