BC Transit reminding Prince George riders of upcoming fare changes

BC Transit will be stopping the sale of legacy Adult and Student/Senior Monthly Pass fare products in Prince George.

This is to have riders transition into its Umo enabled alternatives by December 1st of this year.

Excluding legacy tickets that remain, it said all Umo enabled fair products can be loaded in the app, or to a reloadable Umo card.

Cash and the Province of British Columbia’s BC Buss Pass will continue to be accepted, as well as legacy pass fare products until used up.

U-Pass fare products will still be offered through Umo payment methods, and a new token will be available to support social wellness organizations that offer free or discounted fare products.

BC Transit also plans to provincially enable onboard debit and credit card payments at a later date.

Information on fare types and costs can be found on BC Transit’s website here.
