Quesnel RCMP arrest suspect arrested in logging truck theft

Quesnel RCMP say a logging truck and trailer were stolen from a business on Quesnel Hixon Road early yesterday (Nov 13) morning at around 2:40 a.m.

Sergeant Clay Kronebusch says “the trailer was located abandoned later that day.”

He says the estimated value of the truck is $65,000.

Kroenbusch says the stolen truck was then spotted on Highway 97 near Alexandria this (Nov 14) morning at around 7-30.

“RCMP located the vehicle in the McLeese Lake area. The suspect attempted to flee from police on a stolen motorcycle.”

Kronebusch says the Quesnel RCMP with assistance from Williams Lake RCMP, RCMP air services, and Police Dog Services, were quickly able to apprehend the 29-year old man.

“Thanks to the hard work and coordinated efforts to all those involved, we were able to safely apprehend the suspect and recover the stolen truck and motorcycle.”

The suspect is expected to appear before a judge later today. (Nov 14)
