Various UNBC researchers considered among the world’s top scientists

Seven researchers with UNBC have been ranked among the world’s top scientists.

The ranking is through the 2024 “Updated science-wide author database of standardized citation indicators”, which is peer-reviewed work identifying highly cited scientists around the world.

Vice President, Research and Innovation Dr. Paula Wood-Adams says she was surprised by the recognition.

“I have to say that even though this really feels great, it’s not the only measure of impact of research.” says Dr. Wood-Adams.

“There are many researchers who are doing incredible things who don’t show up on this list, and it’s not because they aren’t amazing.”

Dr. Wood-Adams says her goal for the future is to support other researchers, setting up circumstances and situations where they can excel and have an impact.

One of the projects she’s supporting is an application to the federal government to build a health research hub to reduce health inequities in the north.

More information and the full list of researchers can be found on UNBC’s website here.
