UNBC hosting tentree co-founder at Faculty of Business and Economics Dinner

UNBC’s Faculty of Business and Economics will be hosting the 2nd annual Faculty of Business and Economics Dinner on March 14th, with a special guest.

Co-founder and Head of Partnerships of tentree and veritree David Luba will deliver the keynote address, titled Winning with Climate Solutions: From Planting Trees to Planting Trust.

“UNBC’s leadership in sustainability and its focus on cultivating climate-conscious solutions resonate deeply with my work,” Luba said.

“I’m looking forward to sharing insights on building restorative business models and engaging with a university that prioritizes environmental stewardship and innovation.”

To date, tentree has planted more than 105 million trees globally.

The Faculty of Business and Economics Dinner began earlier this year to connect students and faculty with community leaders to build a sustainable future.

“This annual dinner is an opportunity to bring together students, alumni, faculty and community leaders to engage in conversations about the future of business and its role in society,” said Dr. Ronald Camp II, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics.

“David Luba’s story of combining entrepreneurship with environmental stewardship exemplifies the kind of leadership we strive to inspire.”

Organizers “extremely pleased” with Special Olympics BC Games

After two days of competition, the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games have come to a close.  The games brought around 900 athletes to the Prince George area to compete in ten different sports on Friday and Saturday.  "With any large, large tournament like this, you're always running with your hair straight back just to get everything ready, and we certainly managed to put everything together," said Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee Lyn Hall.
