House fire in Fort St. James

A residential fire in Fort St. James is under investigation by the RCMP.

It happened just after 4 o’clock on Sunday when an off-duty cop was travelling on Highway 27 north and saw flames at a residence located at 40 Williams Prairie Road.

The house was fully engulfed and could not be saved.

No one was inside during the blaze and it is being treated as suspicious.

Anyone with information is asked to call the local detachment or crime stoppers.
