Well-known BC offender charged in Fort Nelson shooting

Assault charges have been approved against two men in relation to a recent shooting in Fort Nelson that sent one person to hospital.

41-year-old Jarrod Bacon has been slapped with aggravated assault in connection with the shooting. In addition, John Chasse, who is also 41, received a similar charge.

Both men have been remanded into custody.

On Wednesday evening (January 29th), police responded to an incident along the 5000 block of 51st Avenue.

Police say the suspects were identified, and on Friday evening, one of the suspects was arrested following a traffic stop.

On that same evening, a search warrant was executed at a residence on the 4600 block of 49th Avenue, and the second suspect, was arrested taken into custody in connection to the shooting.

Bacon is one of three Fraser Valley brothers who were associated with the Red Scorpions gang at the height of the Metro Vancouver gang conflict in the 2000s.

His youngest brother Jamie was arrested for the Surrey Six murders in 2007 and sentenced to 18 years behind bars.

Jonathan Bacon, the eldest of the three, was killed in a shooting outside a Kelowna hotel in 2011.
