Two Canadian teams are in action tonight as the Edmonton Oilers (34-16-4) host Colorado (32-22-2) while the Winnipeg Jets (38-14-3) welcome the New York Islanders (25-21-7).
BCHL:
The (13-20-3-1) Prince George Spruce Kings host the (21-12-2-2) Coquitlam Express Friday night at 7:00 and Saturday night at 6:00.
The Spruce Kings are eight points out of a playoff spot with 17 games remaining.
BC Elite Hockey League:
The first place Under-18 Cariboo Cougars play their next two games at the BC Elite Hockey League’s Showcase in Burnaby.
The (20-6-3-1) Cougars face the (17-12-1-1) Fraser Valley Thunderbirds Sunday afternoon at 4:00 and the (19-10-2-1) Okanagan Rockets Monday morning at 8:30.
Cariboo is in top spot by three points over the (20-9-0-1) Valley West Giants and the Rockets.
The U17 Cariboo Cougars (11-18-1-2) are in Burnaby at the BCEHL showcase Saturday and Sunday to play a double-header against the winless South Island Royals (0-28-0-3).
Cariboo is 7th in the 9-team league.
In U15 action, Cariboo is at the league showcase in Burnaby and will play four games this weekend.
Cariboo locks horns against the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds at 2:45 from Scotia Barn Rink 3.
On Saturday, the Cougars face off against the Greater Vancouver Canadians (9:15 AM) and the Thunderbirds (4:15pm).
The baby Cats wrap up the weekend on Sunday with a matchup against the Valley West Giants at 8:45 AM.
Lastly, the U18 female-AAA Northern Capitals are also at the same event. The Caps take on the first-place Greater Vancouver Comets (10:15 AM) and the Vancouver Island Seals (7:15pm) on Friday.
Saturday’s action has the Capitals playing the Seals again at 11:30 AM before wrapping up the weekend Sunday against Fraser Valley (8:30 AM).

Canada West Basketball:
The UNBC Timberwolves, with just four games left in their Canada West Basketball season, visit the Trinity Western Spartans (TWU) tonight (at 6:00 and 8:00) and Saturday night (at 4:00 and 6:00).
The UNBC women are 4-12 while the UNBC men sit 1-15.
The TWU men and women are both 8-8.
The Timberwolves play their final home games on Feb 14th and 15th against the UBC Thunderbirds.
