Central Mountain Air launches new direct service from PG to Calgary

More direct air service to Alberta is on the way.

Central Mountain Air announced today (Tuesday) they will be offering a non-stop route from Prince George to Calgary starting March 3rd.

“This route will be served by one of CMA’s larger regional commuter aircraft, complete with inflight services and a dedicated flight attendant, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable journey.
Designed to enhance connectivity between Alberta and Northern British Columbia, this new service offers a seamless travel experience for business and leisure travelers.”

“We are excited to see more convenience offered to passengers at our airport,” said Sabrina Angus, Interim President and CEO of the Prince George Airport Authority. “This increased service
strengthens regional connectivity for Prince George and other communities we serve.”

This new route will fly four times per week (Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri), arriving in Prince George in the morning (9:05AM) and departing later in the afternoon (3:45PM).

Surprise visit brings big smiles to boy battling cancer in Quesnel

A young man battling eye cancer received a surprise visit over the Canada Day long weekend by a car club and motorcycle club in Quesnel. Over 50 vehicles from the Prospector’s Car Club and the Dangerous Curves Motorbike Club drove by and filled the dead-end roads near Kellen Harper-Frederiko’s house, with well wishes, toys to give to Kellen, and chances for him to sit in and on cars and bikes.

Some Northern Interior Health Unit services moving next year

Northern Health's Northern Interior Health Unit (NIHU) will be making a move in spring 2026.  According to Northern Health, the current NIHU building will be deconstructed after the move to make space for the tower.
