Price of gasoline in Prince George to jump 4-8 cents this weekend

It’s time to fill that gas tank.

Senior Petroleum Analyst with GasBuddy.com Dan McTeague says the price of wholesale gas (what gas stations pay) has climbed 6 cents over the past week climbing all the way 94 cents.

“Whether it is tomorrow morning, probably 50-50, but definitely by Monday, you will see prices across the BC Interior rising anywhere from 4-9 cents a litre.”

McTeague says the coming holiday season traditionally has little impact on the price of gasoline, leaving him scratching his head for the reason behind the price bump. He says the North American refinery network is in decent shape.

“There’s no disruptions, hiccups, supply disturbances, turn around or repairs so I’m left to believe that there are a number of speculative elements that are driving these prices versus the traditional supply and demand”

According to GasBuddy.com, Costco is currently selling gas a 89.9 cents a litre. The next lowest is several other stations at 91.9.
