New report cards getting thumbs up from some teachers

School District 57 teachers are enjoying a new type of report card filing system.

Teachers for grades 4-7 have been using the new option that better shows where students are at in their learning.

Principal of Curriculum and Instruction Cindy Heitman says the system uses a six point scale.

Heitman says parents and teachers have also noted how more thorough the communication is with the new system.

She says schools have either one teacher or all of them using the optional system.
