Express derail Spruce Kings

The Prince George Spruce Kings concluded the road portion of their schedule on Sunday when they dropped a 4-1 decision to the Coquitlam Express.

Luca Leone put the Express on the board at 1:01 of the first period to make it 1-0 after 20 minutes.

In the second, Coquitlam would add two more starting with Austin McIlmurray’s 26th of the season at 5:01 followed by Owen Stout’s 13th of the campaign at 19:02.

Kyle Johnson would break the goose egg for the Spruce Kings at 6:02 of the third from Jarod Hovde and Adam Burnett.

McIlmurray potted his second of the night at 19:43 to ice the victory for Coquitlam.

Liam McCloskey made 15 saves in the loss.

The Spruce Kings play at home on Thursday night against the Langley Rivermen at 7pm from the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.
