Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies M-P Bob Zimmer has been elected Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities.
Zimmer says he’s looking forward to the challenge. “Especially with our riding needing so many skilled workers in the future, that’s where I see a huge need but it’s a really diverse group and we just need to find a direction on where we are going.”
The group studies employment, labour, income security and disability issues by the Department of Employment and Social Development.
Issues like Employment Insurance and the Canada Pension Plan will also be brought up.
As Vice-Chair, he will support the Chair and attend meetings when necessary.
