Cougars begin play-off quest against Royals

The Cariboo Cougars welcome the South Island Royals in round 1 of the BCMML playoffs on Friday.

The Cougars finished in second place only behind the Valley West Hawks with a 29-8-3 record.

Head Coach, Trevor Sprague says they can’t afford to take the Royals lightly.

“When it comes to playoffs I don’t care where you finish whether it is 7th or 1st it doesn’t matter everybody gets a clean slate. They are going to come in here and attempt to spoil the party by knocking off one of the best teams in the league.”

Sprague adds one thing could be the difference in the series. “Discipline is going to huge. If there is a hockey penalty that is fine but if it’s a lazy penalty that is not going to help us out at all.”

Puck drop is at 3:30 pm from Kin 1.

Game 2 will be at 3:45 pm also at Kin 1 and game 3, if possible, is slated for 10 am.
