Cariboo dethrones Royals

The Cariboo Cougars made short work of the South Island Royals sweeping the best of 3 quarter-final 2-0.

On Saturday, Cariboo posted a 5-2 victory thanks to goals from Tyler Maser, Mason Richey, Daine Dubois, Darian Long and Devin Sutton.

Joe Stafford-Veale scored both markers for the Royals.

Aaron Jakubowski stopped 16 of 18 picking up the win in goal while Zakery Myrowich made 53 saves in defeat.

On Friday, the Cougars easily moved past South Island 6-0.

Reid Perepeluk scored the lone goal and eventual game winner in the opening period.

Cariboo added two more in the second from Ty Kolle and Trey Thomas.

Jesse Pomeroy, Tyler Ho and Kolle netted three more in the third.

The Cougars will host it’s semi-final series starting on Friday with a tentative 5 pm puck drop at Kin 1.
