Dorrin Luding doesn’t steal many games but when he does its usually during a crucial point in the season.
The 16-year old Prince George product made 25 saves propelling the Cariboo Cougars to a 3-1 victory on Saturday evening their BCMML best of three semi final series against the Vancouver Northwest Giants.
Cariboo blitzed Giants goalie David Tendeck in the first period potting three goals courtesy of Joel Patsey, Josh Maser, and Devin Sutton.
Tendeck was pulled in favour of Beck Warm who shutout Cariboo for the remainder of the game.
VNW got their only goal in the second from Jason Village.
The Giants pressed hard during the final 40 minutes but were unable to breakthrough the Cougars defense.
On Friday, VNW held on for 3-2 victory in Game 1.
Justin Wilson tallied twice while Liam Kindree added a single to edge the Cougars.
Cariboo got both of its markers shorthanded from Riley Coish and Josh Maser.
The home-side outshot the Giants 17-9 in the third period only to be stonewalled by goaltender David Tendeck.
Game 3 goes Sunday at 11 am from Kin 1.
In the other semi-final the Valley West Hawks and Okanagan Rockets are also tied at 1 with game 3 going Sunday at 3 pm.
