Prince George three degrees warmer this winter

It was almost 3 degrees above normal in Prince George this winter.

The average temperature was a soothing -4 degrees compared to the regular normal high of -6.7.

Meteorologist, Matt MacDonald says the strong El Nino the city experienced has experienced should last well into spring. “This continuation of warmer than normal temperatures should continue into a very mild spring from April to June.”

As for the summer months, things should be a bit more seasonal. “By the time we do get to summer I would expect a near normal summer in terms of temperatures and of course perception is always tricky to forecast this far in advance.”

The first week of spring in Prince George is expected to be a wet one with rain expected in the forecast.
