For the second straight year, attendance is up at Prince George Cougar home games.
The Cougars averaged 3,122 fans (up nearly 9.5 %) during the regular season with the feature games playing a major role according to Vice-President of Business, Andy Beesley. “We know when people come to those games the building is full, the atmosphere is electric and the hair on the back of your neck stands up and they will come back more often.”
Beesley adds the team is especially pleased with the crowds down the stretch.
“The last three home games we saw almost 15,000 people come through our building so of course we would like to see the numbers higher until there are no green seats left at all. We would love to be sold-out every night but in the meantime, we are very happy the graph is going up.”
The Cougars averaged 2,852 fans during year one of the New Ice Age last season.
80% more people have attended home games over the past two years.
The Lethbridge Hurricanes enjoyed one of the biggest increases in the WHL at 24.2% which equates to 734 more people per game.
