The ‘Fun City Slider’ is coming to Prince George this summer.

The 325 metre long slip and slide will be set up on University Avenue on July 2nd.

“This is popular all over North America, virtually every event sells out well in advance.” Organizer Greg Fry says “It’s a lot of fun, family orientated and a great day. Just a good day to get out for an outdoor activity.”

Fry says they will be set up near the top of the hill, and has partnered with UNBC and the City of Prince George to shut down the street.

“Well we don’t have a speed register on it” Fry said with a laugh “We are going to be up near the university, we are only going to use the top portion so it will be fine.”

Fry says his Kamloops based business has also partnered with the YMCA, who will help source volunteers. Five dollars from each ticket will go to the group. Anyone wishing to slide for free can sign up to volunteer through the YMCA or online.
