Two Prince George boxers from the Spruce Capital Boxing Club were victorious on Saturday during the Pro-Style Amateur Boxing Card.
Colton Bilawchuk defeated Donovan Cridland of Kelowna in the Junior 150 category by a unanimous decision.
Bilawchuk says he made a quick adjustment to gain an advantage against his opponent. “In the first round, I saw he was pretty wide and had a pretty good jab but once I figured out how to block I was countering over the top with the right since he was sloppy with his jabs.”
In the main event, it was Lyndon Creyke beating George Spalding of Terrace via split decision in the Senior 195 match.
Creyke believes he was in the driver’s seat for the entire bout despite some good surges from his opponent.
“He caught me with a few three punch combinations but overall I kept the ring control and I was landing the big shots. I made it look good basically.”
400 people attended the event at CNC.
