It’s a banner day for Downtown Prince George

Prince George’s revitalization efforts continue to progress with the installation of 110 new banners between George Street and Third Avenue.

It’s a partnership between Downtown Prince George, City of Prince George and the local Rotary Club.

Downtown PG Executive Director, Colleen Van Mook says since the new year, several new businesses have set up shop with more on the way.

“We have welcomed at least a half-dozen new businesses to the downtown and we are aware a few more restaurants and retail will be opening later on this year so we think the business folks have a good feeling about the area.”

The latest initiative set up by the city in the downtown core was Foodie Friday which takes place every Friday until September 30th.

The installation of banners is part of a city program seeing more than 400 banners along highways, major roads, and civic facilities.
