Up to $5000 for grassroots projects that improve the health of communities is up for grabs once again.
Northern Health is accepting applications for their IMAGINE Community Grants until October 31st.
Their first installment in April was quite successful according to Community Grants Lead, Mandy Levesque.
“We were able to support 91 projects in 46 different communities and that funding totaled $340,000. Since 2009, we have supported 671 grants worth over $1.8 million dollars.”
Community organizations, First Nations groups, schools, municipalities, and regional districts can submit project ideas that support a variety of things.
They include the following:
– Healthy Eating and Food Security
– Physical activity and active living
– Injury prevention
– Tobacco-free communities
– Positive mental health
– Prevention of substance abuse harms
– Healthy early childhood development
– Healthy aging
