Cullen slams feds for June job numbers

Not good.

The reaction of NDP Finance critic Nathan Cullen to news the national job rate rose a tenth of a percent to 7.1 percent in June.

He says he’s most concerned about the effect that’s having on young people across the country.

Cullen attributes the increase to the temporary foreign worker program and to losses in the manufacturing sector.

He says the government could help matters by introducing a small business hiring tax credit and by opening up our immigration policy.
