First snow of the year forecast for the Pine Pass

Northern BC is about to get its first blast of winter this weekend, with snow being forecast for the Pine Pass and Peace River District.

Environment Canada says a cold front is pushing south from the Yukon into Northern BC. Rain and cold north winds will change to snow Friday night with accumulation expected in the 5-10cm. Additional snowfall is expected for Saturday.

The roads north of Powder King Ski Resort will likely be impacted. Travellers should be prepared for quickly changing conditions and have winter tires installed.

In Prince George, overnight lows will range in the 0 to 4 degree range over the next several days.

Road conditions are available at www.drivebc.ca
