Firefighters put out blaze on Gorse Street

Three Prince George fire halls responded to a blaze on the 1700 block of Gorse Street just after 4 PM today.

Assistant Fire Chief John Heaslip says 14 firefighters arrived to thick smoke coming out of the house’s front and side doors.

Heaslip says crews contained the fire to just the kitchen and had it out in about ten minutes. There were no injuries reported.

He says it’s still too early to know what caused the fire or the cost of damages.
