The Thompson-Okanagan Lakers finally exercised some demons when it comes to the Northern Capitals.
Jenna Fletcher paced the visitors to a 6-3 win on Saturday at Kin 1 in the second game of a triple header in BC Female Midget Hockey action.
Elizabeth Klimm, Cassidy Stasiuk, and Ashlyn Sunderland potted the remainder of the offense for the Thompson-Okanagan.
Braxtyn Shawara, Caitline White and Jordan Shanks replied in defeat for the Capitals.
Nicole Kay made 39 saves in the loss.
Capitals Forward, Caily Mellott says too many defensive breakdowns cost them the victory. “I think there was a lack of communication, we have to improve that and cover all the players. Hopefully we get them back tomorrow (Sunday).”
Several league officials and former Capitals Head Coach Mario Desjardins participated in a banner raising ceremony before the game recognizing the team’s second consecutive provincial championship.
The rubber match is set for 10AM on Sunday from Kin 1.
