Local Veterans to be recognized by the Spruce Kings

Tonight’s BCHL game between the Prince George Spruce Kings and Coquitlam Express will have a little extra meaning.

The Spruce Kings will be honouring local Veterans with a special ceremony and Legion Executive Representative, Joe Elliott says there should be no shortage of bodies.

“World War II Veterans and the Legion of Honour will be dropping the puck and we’ll have the colour party in attendance, so we’re really hoping to see as many people in uniform as possible. It’s also going to be an awesome game.”

Elliott also explains the importance of the poppy. “It signifies the sacrifices our men and women have done for Canada and the Commonwealth and our Veterans of this country.”

A cemetery parade is also planned for November the 6th.
