Reported assault leads to drug related charges in Prince George

Two people are facing drug related charges following a report of an assault on Sunday morning in Prince George.

At about 11:30 am, police responded to a report of a stabbing on Tamarack St. Responding officers found a 30 year man who appeared to have thrown a rock through a window and been bear sprayed while trying to kick down the door of a residence on the 2000 block of Tamarack. No stabbing occurred.

Three people tried to flee the scene in a vehicle but were apprehended by officers. One of them – a 40 year old man – was in possession of a significant amount of cash, cocaine and methamphetamine.

Officers executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant on the property and arrested three more people after discovering cocaine, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and several high end mountain bikes.

The 40 year old man has been remanded to custody and appeared in court today. A 32 year old woman has been released on a promise to appear in court. Both are facing charges for drug related offences. The other suspects were released without charges.

The investigation is still active. Anyone with information that may be relevant to the investigation is asked to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
