Northern BC Housing Conference to have no shortage of talking points

The senior’s population of BC will be the topic of discussion during the two-day Northern BC Housing Conference at UNBC.

Hammering out the appropriate housing options for them is key according to Co-Director of the Community Development Institute, Marleen Morris. “We have a very rapidly aging population in BC and that is going to require that we look at housing a bit differently, making sure we having housing that is suited for an older generation.”

Six workshops will highlight summit with the most popular possibly being Flex Housing Design says Morris.

“That is housing which is suited to see a family through the various stages of life including pre-children, all the way to having a family and then as empty-nesters.”

The conference is set for Thursday and Friday.

The results of the Northern BC Housing Study will also be released.
