If it didn’t feel like winter before, it sure will after the deep freeze Prince George is expecting.
Ross Macdonald at Environment Canada says the minus 20 and 30 temperatures will be here for a while.
“We’re going to be locked into this pattern until the first part of next week, we are trying to find a respite where the warmer weather will break this Arctic cold and it should be quite frigid.”
However, Prince George will not be the only part of the province experiencing these conditions. “An Arctic front is pushing down from Alaska and the Yukon and this cold front is really a story for all of British Columbia. Prince George and the Central Interior is going to be in this deep freeze for much of this week and into the weekend.”
The coldest stretch is expected on the weekend with Friday’s overnight low expected to reach -36.
Saturday and Sunday’s daytime highs are expected to be -29 and -24.
