After extending the misery of the Coquitlam Express on Friday, the Prince George Spruce Kings fell short against the Cowichan Valley Capitals on Saturday.
Cowichan Valley doubled up Prince George by a 4-2 score.
Jarrod Domin and George Sennot scored two minutes apart in the opening frame to put the Capitals ahead 2-0 early on.
The Spruce Kings turned the tide late in the frame thanks to Tyler Anderson’s 10th of the season making it 2-1 after 20 minutes.
In the second, Ethan De Jong potted his fifth marker evening up the score at two apiece 8:44 into the middle frame.
The tie wouldn’t last however as Ty Pochipinski put the Capitals back in front unassisted.
Justin Perron added the insurance marker in the third period to ice the victory for Cowichan.
Tavin Grant made 18 saves on 22 shots.
On Friday, Brett Mennear and Chong Min Lee led the way offensively for the Spruce Kings in an 7-3 thrashing over the Express in Coquitlam.
De Jong, Ben Brar, and Drew Lennon added singles for Prince George.
The Victoria Grizzlies welcome the Spruce Kings on Sunday at 2pm to cap off the first half of the BCHL season.
