Approximately 617 books were read each day by Prince George children in 2016 according to the Prince George Public Library.
Over 225,253 books were borrowed between the two branches last year and Spokesperson Amy Dhanjal says the earlier kids read, the better off they are.
“Children who read with their families, sing with their families and have story time early on tends to set a really good foundation for life-long learning.”
The numbers came from the library’s new Children and Teen Services Report.
In 2016, the Prince George Public Library saw a 71% spike in participation in teen programs over the past year.
