Police apprehend Car-jacking suspect

A dramatic armed robbery in Prince George Friday morning saw police take care of the incident in under 10 minutes.

Around 7:15, police received a call of a man pulling a knife on the driver of a delivery van near the Civic Centre. The driver complied and was unhurt as the suspect fled.

Corporal Craig Douglass says officers found the suspect shortly thereafter.

“Within a couple minutes, officers located the van on Massey Dr. near Westwood,” he says. “Officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver of the vehicle failed to comply and continued on a short distance where fled the vehicle on foot and was apprehended a short time later.”

Police are recommending numerous charges against the 40 year old PG resident, including: armed robbery, dangerous operation of a vehicle, and resisting arrest.
