Treasure fails to land a medal at a pair of European meets

Alyx Treasure of Prince George competed in a couple of international women’s high jump meets in Europe on the weekend.

Treasure placed fifth out of seven with a leap of 1.86 metres Friday in Madrid, Spain.

She was also sixth out of 12 in Padova, Italy after crossing the bar at 1.85 metres.

The 25-year-old four-time Canadian champion is waiting word to see if she qualified for the world championships next month in London, England.

Treasure, who set a personal best of 1.94 metres at the 2016 Rio Olympics, returns to Kansas this week to resume training.
