Prince George residents are still digging themselves out following the latest blast of winter.
“It looks like Prince George got about 10 centimetres of snow based on what we can see,” says Trevor Smith, Environment Canada, Meteorologist.
Much of Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning have been a bit of challenge for motorists due to the snow packed conditions in some spots.
However, the conditions are expected to improve despite the freezing rain warning currently in effect.
“Perhaps we might see some of that during the day but we’re going to warm up to about plus three or plus four and probably stay above freezing, so a lot of the snow that came last night is probably going to melt.”
The warmer temperatures could make things quite slushy.
“Certainly, it is going to be a sloppy mess but the long-term forecast for the next few days at least through Sunday is going to see some Pacific air bring more showers than snow as we’ll daytime high of about five or six right through the weekend,” added Smith.
Prince George has experienced two snow events in the past week.
