Former City alderman dies at 91

A local resident responsible for the expansion of the City of Prince George has passed away.

Arthur Stauble was a former member of council, serving as an alderman for 13 years from 1974 to 1987.

Among his accomplishments was the 1975 referendum that brought the Blackburn, College Heights, Haldi Road, Hart Highway, North Nechako, South Fort George, Van Way, and Western Acres regions to the City.

“Art” died of natural causes on Friday, December 1st while being cared for at the University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) at the age of 91.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Yvonne, his two sons, and three grandchildren.
