The Spruce Kings and the Vipers turned back time Saturday night.
In the 80th anniversary of the first-ever game at the Vernon Civic Arena, Prince George defeated Vernon 3-2 before more than 2,000 fans at the BCHL Heritage Game.
Goal-scorers included Ethan de Jong on the penalty kill, Ben Brar unassisted 85 seconds into the second, and Jarod Hovde with the game-winner six minutes later.

Netminder Evan DeBrouwer made 42 saves on 44 shots for his 17th victory of the season.
With the win, the Spruce Kings improve to 21-12-3-4, launching them into the top spot in the Mainland Division ahead of the Langley Rivermen.
Prince George concludes their three-game, three-day road trip today, 3PM in Salmon Arm against the Silverbacks.
