A nominee for Prince George Citizen of the Year has withdrawn his name. Brent Marshall has pulled out of the race, because of “recent speculation and reporting of affairs related to his business.” Marshall made the decision in consultation with his nominator. Board Member with the Prince George Community Foundation, Teresa Saunders says Marshall has done the honourable thing.
“The Citizen of the Year Dinner is meant to be a celebratory evening,” says Saunders, “celebrating the good work people do in our community, Brent has certainly done a lot of good work in our community over a number of years, and we wanted to acknowledge that as he was one of the nominees.”
The other candidates for Citizen of the Year are Norma Allison, Andrew Burton, Penny Jones and Roy Spooner.
