Residents south of Prince George will be without power for a few hours tomorrow.
A planned outage is scheduled to take place between 10am until 2pm, where maintenance will be done by crews and they can connect a new customer.
Spokesperson for BC Hydro Bob Gammer says they’re connecting a commercial building, which is more time consuming compared to a residential home.
“Because it’s a three 
phase customer it’s a little more labour intensive to get that line configured so that we can connect this new commercial customer.”
Approximately 150 customers will be effected by the outage and BC hydro says people who have their phone numbers registered have been contacted and warned they will be without power for a few hours.
There are options for people who want to have power in their homes during that time.
“If customers want to run a portable generator, to continue to powering up their home, they have too ensure they have a CSA approved transfer switch on that generator to prevent back feeding of their home into the neighbourhood.”
He says by making sure you’re not feeding power somewhere else, workers will be safe to perform their tasks.
