Prince George is in Priorities One and Two for snow and ice removal as seven centimetres has fallen since early this morning.
City crews are currently clearing certain areas specified within the Priority guidelines, including arteries like 15th Avenue, Tabor Boulevard, Foothills Boulevard, Ospika Boulevard, and all major bus routes.
City Roads Manager Blake McIntosh says his fleet is prepped and ready to plow the roads and get them complete within the next 48 hours.
“The forecast is calling for additional snow for the weekend, especially on Sunday. If we got another 75 millimetres or so by then, we would focus again on Priority Ones and Twos, and then move into Priority Threes.”
He encourages drivers to continue to use caution as ice could be hiding underneath the snow.
“Just be safe out there, and if you can give any snow clearing equipment enough room to complete their job and maintenance tasks, that would be great.”
